A reminder how important GISAT-1A Satellite means to India's #NationalSecurity

Unlike conventional remote-sensing satellites operating in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) that pass over a specific area only once every few days, GISAT-1A is positioned in a Geostationary orbit above the Earth. This fixed vantage point enables high-frequency imaging over the same geographic expanse acting as a 'Eye in the Sky' for the country during Day Time Hours.

The satellite can capture full-disk images of the Indian Subcontinent every 30 minutes and focus on selected target areas every 5 minutes.

GISAT-2 will be a dedicated Satellite launched by ISRO for the Indian Navy to track the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) even during the Night with high Optical Sensors for Night Vision providing round the clock monitoring and surveillance of the region.

While there's no update about the launch of GISAT-2 yet. It will be a Advance version of GISAT-1A (which is a replacement Satellite of GISAT-1/EOS-3) which is dedicated for dual use Satellite 🛰️ to look over the Indian Subcontinent Landmass during Daytime. #Space #ISRO

Expected orbit was 170x29000 km and achieved orbit with slight apogee gain was at 171x 31026 km

NVS-03 launch is next. Six more launches are planned in this financial year. Gaganyaan-G1 targeted in this calendar year.

Current vehicle (GSLV) capacity is 2250 kg to GTO. Not expected to improve further.

On TLP status: Completed design phase, realization phase to begin soon

EOS-05 expected mission life is 7 years confident it will perform for 9 years.

By 9 September orbit raising phase of EOS-05 will be done. After that the on-orbit checking will take a month. In two months it'll be fully operational.

On concerns related to SLC operations and management being handed over to pvt. sector

Concerns are genuine but we there to handhold them to make that program successful.

DRDO has issued an RFP for an S-band High-Power Microwave (HPM) Integrated Evaluation System for Lethality & Damage (SHIELD) under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme.

The proposed modular & scalable system will use GaN-based SSPA technology to achieve ≥3 kV/m peak electric field in the far field, with pulsed operation, flexible duty cycles and advanced thermal management.

Designed as a versatile platform to evaluate electronic-system vulnerability to S-band HPM radiation, the system will also be drone-mountable.

DRDO invites bids for Development of Air-to-Air Refuelling Pod

The Defence R&D Organisation (DRDO) has issued RFP under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme for the development of an indigenous Air-to-Air Refuelling Pod (AARP).

The project aims to develop an advanced, reliable and indigenous refuelling pod for in-flight refuelling of multiple receiver aircraft, reducing dependence on foreign OEMs and strengthening India’s aerial refuelling capabilities.
