The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Friday (August 28, 2026) submitted in the Supreme Court a proposal to provide information relating to added sugar, fat and salt in pictorial form on the front-of-pack (FOP) of food products, in line with international regulations.

Commercial crude #oil extraction has begun in Ashoknagar, North 24 Parganas, from a depth of around 2,396 metres. ONGC is initially targeting nearly 20,000 litres of crude per day, with specialised tankers transporting the oil to a refinery. Exploratory extraction in 2020 had produced around 375 barrels. The Ashoknagar block now has 6 wells—4 for oil and 2 for natural gas. #Energy #aatmarnirbharbharat
