Commonwealth Games Weightlifting:  Gyaneshwari Yadav wins silver in women’s 53kg

Gyaneshwari Yadav secured silver in the women’s 53kg final with a combined lift of 199kg, becoming India’s fourth weightlifting medallist in Glasgow.

She lifted 88kg in the snatch before registering 111kg in the clean and jerk, which briefly set a Games and Commonwealth record. Nigeria’s Didih Onome Omolola then bettered that mark with 113kg.
