Nepal has ended a decade-old curb and now allows Indian and Nepalese nationals to carry Indian ₹200 and ₹500 notes issued on/after Nov 9, 2016, up to ₹25,000 per person, as notified by Nepal Rastra Bank. The restriction was imposed after India’s 2016 demonetisation.

Separately, Nepal has asked India to recognise its National ID Card as a valid travel document for Nepalis, which would make it the third accepted ID alongside passport and citizenship certificate. #IndianSubcontinent
