UN experts also linked unrelated anti-encroachment drives in Assam and Gujarat to Muslim victimhood narratives, despite these being long-standing actions against illegal encroachments by Bangladeshi and Rohingya settlers. The criticism is seen as undermining India’s fight against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.

The new VDP plant scales domestic manufacturing of high-purity deuterated solvents and specialized compounds for semiconductors, electronics, and medical research. Localizing production reduces import dependence, lowers costs, and strengthens India's self-reliance in frontier science.
