DAE commissioned India's first indigenous, industrial-scale facility for nuclear-grade liquid sodium metal. This 24 kA cell supports the second stage of India’s nuclear power roadmap. By producing high-purity liquid sodium domestically, the plant secures coolant for Fast Breeder Reactors (FBRs) and eliminates reliance on foreign suppliers.

Versatile Deuterated Compounds Production Plant (VDP) Plant

The new VDP plant scales domestic manufacturing of high-purity deuterated solvents and specialized compounds for semiconductors, electronics, and medical research. Localizing production reduces import dependence, lowers costs, and strengthens India's self-reliance in frontier science.
