Fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi has been directed by a UK court to pay over 11 million US dollars to the Bank of India.

The ruling was delivered by the High Court in London. Justice Simon Tinkler held that Modi is liable under a personal guarantee linked to a loan extended to a Dubai-based firm, Firestar Diamond FZE.

The court found that the demand notice issued in October 2025 was valid and enforceable under Indian law.
