Two of India's best #Tech #Startups have joined hands to bring sovereign #AI into orbit aboard India’s first orbital data centre satellite, a pathfinder mission bringing datacenter-class GPUs and high-performance remote sensing together in space.

An orbital data center satellite is a spacecraft that carries server hardware (like GPUs and storage) in Earth orbit instead of on the ground.

Its significance: Space provides free solar power, natural vacuum cooling, and the ability to process huge volumes of Earth-observation data (like Pixxel's hyperspectral imagery) right there in orbit.

This cuts downlink costs, enables real-time AI inference, and supports sovereign edge computing—as in this India pathfinder with SarvamAI. It's a big step toward scalable space-based infrastructure. 🚀
