As the war in West Asia escalates and LPG price and availability became a matter of discomfort to middle class, many are trying to opt for the Induction cooktops.

Here a simple economic viability and mathematics:

An LPG cylinder costs around 900 to 1,000 rupees. But the gas stoves waste over half the fuel heating the kitchen instead of the food. Gas burners are only about 45% efficient, while induction cooktops are 85% efficient due to fundamental physics.
Gas flames heat the pot, the surrounding air, the countertop, and the user's face, whereas induction technology exclusively heats the pot.

An LPG cylinder provides approximately 295 Mega- Joules of useful cooking heat after accounting for efficiency loss. Achieving the same amount of useful heat with induction requires roughly 96 kilowatt-hours of electricity. To find the breakeven point, divide the cylinder cost by 96 kilowatt-hours (1000 rs ÷ 96 kw-h) = 10.4 rs per unit electricity.
