The current Vice Chief, Lt Gen PP Singh takes over Western Command next month

while QMG, Lt Gen VMB Krishnan, will be the new Eastern Army Commander from 1st April.

Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, currently Chief Of Staff, Southern Command, will get elevated as Southern Army Commander simultaneously.

India’s indigenous AIP system, developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation with Larsen & Toubro, is ready for operational use.

The system will be installed on INS Khanderi during refit, making it the first Kalvari-class submarine fitted with indigenous AIP.

The submarine is expected to be ready by end-2026.
