The US Commerce Department has imposed preliminary duties of 126% on solar imports from India.

The move cites alleged unfair manufacturing subsidies that enabled exporters to underprice US producers.

Proposed duties range from 86% to 143% on imports from Indonesia.

Solar products from Laos face proposed duties of about 81%.

Washington says the measures aim to counter subsidy-driven market distortions and protect domestic manufacturers.
