India’s new Labour Codes will reset how workforce salaries via Business Line (very well explained)

What changes?
- Higher social security, lower take-home: Basic pay must now be ≥50% of CTC. That pushes up PF & gratuity contributions, marginally reducing monthly in-hand pay for many employees.

-Gratuity becomes bigger and faster: Eligibility drops from 5 years to just 1 year for fixed-term employees; higher basic also means sharply higher payouts.

-Gig & informal workers win: For the first time, platform workers get a formal social-security framework.

- Industry impact: Companies must rethink salary structures, bonuses, manpower budgets and compliance.

Example: For a ₹15L–₹25L salary band, PF outgo rises, take-home dips modestly, but long-term gratuity gains are substantial. #Policy #Jobs
