The Ministry of Defence signed a contract agreement worth ₹659.47 crore for procurement of Night Sight (Image Intensifier) for 7.62 x 51mm Assault Rifle along with accessories for the Indian Army with the consortium of M/s MKU Ltd (Lead Member) and M/s Medbit Technologies Pvt Ltd on Oct 15, 2025. The Night Sight will enable soldiers to fully exploit the longer effective range of the SIG 716 Assault Rifle.

Indian Army has officially signed a contract with M/s Thales, UK for procurement of Light Weight Modular Missile (LMM) System on 15 Oct 25.

LMM is a lightweight and man-portable missile system which can be deployed in operational areas, including High-Altitude Areas. The missile operates on Laser Beam Riding principle and is resistant to evasive actions taken by modern day aerial platforms.

The missile is highly effective against all types of aircrafts, helicopters, UAVs and UCAVs including aerial targets with low IR signature up to a range greater than 6 Kms in all-weather conditions.

The missile has a high single-shot kill probability due to an advanced sighting system, the incorporation of a proximity fuze and a high-explosive warhead.

Achieving major milestone in critical defence technologies, Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS), indigenously developed by DRDO has successfully undergone a combat freefall jump from an altitude of 32,000 feet. The parachute system was deployed at an altitude of 30,000 ft, making it the only system deployed at this altitude which is in use by Indian Armed Forces

The jump was executed by test jumpers Wg Cdr Vishal Lakhesh, VM (G), MWO R J Singh & MWO Vivek Tiwari, showcasing the efficiency, reliability, and advanced design of the indigenous system.
