ISRO aims to launch it's new Semi-Cryogenic Engine (SE-2000) on the new Second Stage of LVM3 SC-120 which currently uses Liquid Stage L110 powered by (2 Vikas Engine) in 2027

The older Vikas Engine uses Hypergolic propellants UDMH (unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine) as fuel and N₂O₄ (nitrogen tetroxide) as Oxidizer whereas the new SE-2000 Semi-Cryogenic engine will use Kerosene (ISRO RP-1) as fuel and Liquid Oxygen (LOX) as Oxidizer

This upgrade will increase the payload capacity of LVM3 from 4 Tonnes in GTO to 5.2 Tonnes and LEO from 8 Tonnes to 10 Tonnes. Cost per launch is likely to reduce by 10-12%
