In the First Series ISRO launched 9 IRNSS Series Satellite ( IRNSS-1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 1G,1H, 1I)

IRNSS-1H failed to reached Orbit. So only 8 Satellites were placed in Orbit.

Subsequently IRNSS-1A, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1G all three Atomic Clocks Failed. Meanwhile IRNSS-1F 2 out of the three Atomic Clocks Failed.

So now just IRNSS-1B, 1F, 1I are functional. IRNSS-1B is already beyond its complete 10 Years service, meanwhile IRNSS-1F will complete 10 years in 2026

To replace the Defunt Satellite ISRO launched a new Series of 5 Satellites named as NVS Series.

NVS-01 was launched in May 2023 and is functional meanwhile NVS-02 failed to reach the intended orbit in Jan 2025.

ISRO has planned launch of NVS-03, 04, 05 by end of 2026 but with the current Speed this traget seems hard to fulfill.

If any of the 4 Satellite Fails it will make the NAVIC defunt directly hampering the Strategic Forces of the Country
