Just 38 hours after the fatal AI 171 crash, another Air India wide-body aircraft had a close call.

On June 14, a Vienna-bound Boeing 777 (AI 187) received stall and ground proximity warnings shortly after takeoff from Delhi, dropping nearly 900 feet during climb. The pilots recovered and continued the flight safely.

DGCA is investigating; AI’s safety chief has been summoned, and both pilots have been grounded pending the probe.
