Tata Electronics plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, has begun producing older iPhone models, while a $2.6 billion Foxconn plant in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is set to start shipments in May, focusing on iPhone 16 and 16e models.

The Foxconn plant could produce 300-500 iPhones per hour and is expected to create 50,000 jobs by December 2027. Tata and Foxconn will operate five iPhone factories in India combined.
