According to Ummalaneni Raja Babu, director general of missiles and strategic systems, France is in advanced talks to procure India's Pinaka MLRS.
These systems will likely be procured to meet France's goal of replacing the ageing M270 LRU with a new MLRS system, for which a budget of 600 million € has been allocated.
In total, France's Military Programming Law calls for 13 systems to be fielded by 2030, with an additional 13 (26 total) by 2035.
