The currencyโ€™s strong fundamentals, a narrowing current account deficit, and growing expectations on inflows around Indiaโ€™s inclusion into a global bond index are adding to its appeal, said Nathan Venkat Swami, head of foreign exchange trading in Asia Pacific.

The rupee is the only emerging Asian currency to have strengthened against the dollar this year as global investors buy Indian bonds ahead of the countryโ€™s entry into JPMorgan Chase & Co.โ€™s key gauge.

Say Goodbye To Cracked Roads: New Bitumen Standards For Indian Highways Unveiled

Pavements and roads that crack and turn sticky in the summer heat could soon be a thing of the past.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has issued new guidelines specifying the use of surfacing materials based on both traffic load and pavement temperature. This move aims to make Indian highways smoother and safer.

The new guidelines mandate that all new road projects consider temperature and axle load (traffic weight) variations, rather than just weight-carrying capacity.

The changes will alter the specifications for using bituminous binders on highways. Different grades of binders will now be specified based on prevailing loading, ambient temperature, rainfall, snowfall, and speed. This will make pavements more durable and highways safer, with fewer breakages or potholes, reports Mint.

TCS collaborates with IIT-B to build India's first quantum diamond microchip imager

TCS and IIT Bombay announced on May 28 that they are working together to develop India's first quantum diamond microchip imager.

According to an official statement, a quantum diamond microchip imager is able to image magnetic fields, allowing for a non-invasive and non-destructive mapping of semiconductor chips, similar to an MRI at a hospital. The statement further stated that this technology is essential given the difficulties in detecting anomalies caused by traditional sensing methods due to semiconductors' shrinking size.

New Driving Licence ๐Ÿ’ณ Rules: Driving Tests To Not Be Mandatory From June 1

Here is a list of new rules :

1. One of the most noteworthy changes is that applicants can now take their tests at private training centres, which will also be authorized to issue certificates for license eligibility.

2. The government has simplified the documentation requirements for new license applications. Starting in June, documents will have to be submitted based on the type of vehicle, which will reduce the need for physical review at RTOs.

3. The government has announced plans to phase out 9,00,000 old government vehicles. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enforce stricter emission norms and promote environmentally friendly practices.

4. The government has also laid down new rules for training centres. These centres will need to have at least 1 acre of land for training on light motor vehicles, while 2 acres of land will be required for heavy motor vehicle training. In addition, these centres will be required to provide access to their testing facilities, ensuring that they meet the necessary standards for conducting driving tests.

5. Under the new rules, the issuance of a learner's license will cost Rs 150, while applicants for the learner's license test will have to pay Rs 50. Driving tests will be charged at Rs 300, and a fee of Rs 200 will be levied for the issuance of a driver's license
