Japan's SONY Corporation on Monday said its Indian arm, Culver Max Entertainment Pvt Ltd- formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt Ltd (SPNI)- has called off the $10 billion merger plan with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL).

The merger plan of ZEEL into SPNI was finalised on December 22, 2021. It would have created possibly the biggest entertainment entity in India, combining the two companies' linear networks, digital assets, production operations, and programme libraries.
