The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved Rs 2,486.78 crore project to improve and widen 135 km stretch of national highway from Khowai to Harina in Tripura.
The project would reduce the distance by 28km and the time taken by half.
Project will improve connectivity between different parts of the state as well as between Tripura and Assam.
The stretch is close to Bangladesh border and will improve connectivity between Bangladesh-India leading to growth in land border trade.
