As time went on... an increasing number of nations are attempting to convert to using their national currencies for trade,” Anil Trigunayant, a former Indian Envoy to Jordon, Libya, and Malta, said.

He added that bilateral rupee commerce benefits both nations and reduces transaction costs.

Digital payments between India and Oman are developing as well, Colonel (Retd) Anil Rajeev Agarwal, Director at Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, said.
