Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has become the first in India to explore utilisation of wind energy for consumption purposes. Under the pilot project, a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) unit and solar hybrid (solar mill) have been installed at the airport. According to an official, the technology is expected to generate minimum energy of 36 kWh per day.

India's merchandise exports in May rose 20.55% to $38.94 billion while the trade deficit rose to a record $24.29 billion, up from $6.53 billion recorded in May 2021, according to government data released on Wednesday. Imports in May grew 62.83% to $63.22 billion. Cumulative exports and imports between April 2022-May 2023 rose to $78.72 billion and $123.41 billion respectively.
