Iran shipping company transfering Russia goods to India

Investment in renewable energy in India touched a record US$14.5 billion in the last financial year (FY2021-22), an increase of 125 per cent compared to FY2020-21 and 72 per cent over pre-pandemic FY2019-20

India added 15.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity in FY2021-22, which brings the total installed renewable capacity (excluding large hydro) to 110GW as of March 2022.

After undertaking proof of concept for over five months, Tata Power is gearing up to start full-fledged drone operations for maintaining power lines, checking on theft of lines, remote power meter reading, and so on.

Against the seven or eight towers that could be inspected under manual operations, with drones they were able to inspect 10 to 11 towers. Also, the company made big savings on fuel for vehicles to visit the spots.

Tata Power was able to save around 30 percent in cost with the help of drones. โ€œEarlier, we were giving around Rs 8 per meter reading. However, with drones we incurred an expense of only Rs 5,"
