Govt to begin helicopter service from Srinagar to Amarnath this year

Ministry of Home Affairs has directed Jammu and Kashmir administration to begin helicopter service from Srinagar for Amarnath Yatra. With this, pilgrims can directly travel from Srinagar to Panchtarni, located six kilometres from the Amarnath cave, for the first time and can trek to the shrine. The decision reportedly came considering the heavy tourist rush on the Amarnath Yatra route.

Nepal to handover contract for construction of 750 MW West Seti Hydel to Indian company

According to UNCTAD World Investment Report India, which had received $64 billion in FDI in 2020, recorded a decline in FDI inflows in 2021 at $45 billion. Rosatom supplies TVS-2M #nuclear fuel to India, enables Kudankulam NPP to start operations in longer fuel cycle

Russian state-owned Rosatom, which offers energy solutions across the nuclear supply chain, has supplied the first batches of TVS-2M nuclear fuel to India for the two functioning units of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), powered by VVER-1000 reactors.

After the nearest refuelling, power unit 1 will start operations in 18-months fuel cycle, according to an official statement.

India hands over 50-bed hospital in Bokhtar to Tajikistan

India's Ambassador to Tajikistan Viraj Singh on Saturday handed over the 50-bed India-Tajikistan Friendship Hospital (ITFH) in Bokhtar to the Tajik Deputy Defence Minister Major General Shohiyon Abdusottor. The medical equipment, medicines, stores and support equipment were also handed over, a press release said. The ITFH, which was renovated by the Indian government, was inaugurated in 2014.

IAF to acquire 114 fighter jets for Rs 1.5 lakh crore, 96 of them to be built in India

Amid a big push for the Aatmanirbhar Bharat scheme by the PM Narendra Modi-led government, the Indian Air Force is planning to acquire 114 fighter jets of which 96 would be built in India, and rest 18 would be imported from the foreign vendor chosen for the project.

The Indian Air Force has plans of acquiring 114 Multirole Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) under โ€˜Buy Global and Make in Indiaโ€™ scheme under which Indian companies would be allowed to partner with a foreign vendor.

Maruti Suzuki India records the highest-ever dispatch in a financial year so far as the auto major ships 2.33 lakh units of vehicles through Indian Railways last fiscal. The company's dispatch in 2021-22 was 23 percent up from 1.89 lakh units it transported using Railways in the 2020-21 financial year. Cumulatively, the auto major has transported close to 11 lakh vehicles through Indian Railways in the last eight years, helping avoid over 4,800 MT of carbon dioxide emissions.
