Dragon Tiger [day 1]

-Basic UI with number of scores on top , Graphics/number in middle and choice buttons at the bottom

-Numbers (1-14]{including 1 but excluding 14 / up to 13} will be generated randomly every turn [will later be assigned to the face and number cards , the back of the card being shown before the numbers are generated]

-buttons on the bottom will assign a choice before submission [Tiger , tie or dragon] which will reset every round

-randomize button will reset all the previous choices and will generate the next random numbers

-score counter will update based on the numerical value [if tiger is higher than dragon , it'll increase by 1 .. same for dragon .. and tie will increase if they are equal]
Dev Charlie pinned «Ah ye .. after the stack one .. i think ive tried to make a couple of card game prototypes .. but didnt turn out as well lemmi go find em»
——— - Current Timeframe - ———
The above ones were made like 2 or 3 yrs ago back when i had energy to do shii

after that i havent really made games aside from a couple of game jams i participated as a helper of some sort .. but didnt have recordings of them

So i got back to game dev again this yr .. and made a couple entries for game jams .. plus another one i am currently kinda working on "Whenever i remember it exists"

lemmi share those
——- Fifth Game [Assignment rush] - ———
This one was an entry for the Cyber game jam organized by INSA and Efuye Gela .

I think it was hosted at around the time i was almost done with my finals and had was called to do assignments on the weekend .. said fk it and just went to the jam

spent the first half of the day reading and writing about Plato for my aesthetics assignment🥲

And the 2nd half was me trying to learn RenPy engine .. which had a fun "getting started" guide
So basically this sums up day 1
Night 1 was mostly drawing shii for a friend , drawing characters i might need for my story , playing games .. and trying not to fell asleep as not to be caught by the sleepless bandit
Day 2

So the main game idea i had was you playing as a Highschooler who have just opened a new social media acc

And the gameplay takes place on your phone .. where the top half is where you see messages , photos , videos n shii .. and the bottom half is where you get choices to reply to as

you will have access to multiple chats and sometimes you might also have random encounters with either spam or an unexpected guests

While it was great and all in my head .. skill issue struck 😅

I realized idk shii about how any of that work .. nor idk about how to program

In panic i went to youtube looking for easy solutions and came across a vid explaining how one can do a visual novel in godot ... which was a lifesaver to say the least

so with like 4 hrs left till the submission deadline .. i re wrote the whole script .. rawdogged the dialogic documentation and managed to make a working prototype by the end of the jam ..

except one minor problem

i didnt know how to export the game ..

explanation : Dialogic is an addon that lets you make visual novels in godot without scripting .. you drag and drop basically blocks and you fill them with what you want .. i think works similar to scratch [havent worked with scratch so might be some minor differences]

ina in dialogic you basically create a timeline and that timeline will have the elements you need to "play" the game like the text , choices , images , backgrounds n shii

so you can technically play the game when you run the timeline

but godot doesn't have access to the timeline cause there is no reference to it in any of the scenes .. so when you play a scene all you see is a blank space even if the game runs fine in the timeline

i didnt have the brain capacity to solve this problem during that time so i submitted the whole project fine instead
So basically this was the main storyline i was mapping when i was brainstorming for the phone based game

If anyone wanna the tool i used is called Twine
