I was using my desktop and laptop with one account .. then I used my friend's flash to make a bootable fedora installer .. I backed up my pc files and my friends flash files on my desktop,
After installing Fedora on my PC, when i open the desktop, guess wht?It also switched to Fedoraπππ
Now, Iβve lost all of my files and my friendβs files tooπππ

Here is how I recovered my files
Just simple steps, first update ur system and install the needed tools i used this commands
Then start the testdisk by typing this command
make sure u have enough space where u are saving the files
then it will show u the progress and how many files has recovered
Then just follow these steps
i wish i could show u each steps with screenshoots but just follow these steps :
1, Select the disk where ur files were lost
2, Choose
3, Select
4, Highlight the partition labeled
5, If u see ur files press
then it will show u the progress and how many files has recovered
u can use photorec for specific file recovery like this
follow the screen instructions it is same to the first step....

sudo dnf install testdisk photorec extundelete ddrescue scalpel
Then start the testdisk by typing this command
make sure u have enough space where u are saving the files
then it will show u the progress and how many files has recovered
sudo testdisk
Then just follow these steps

1, Select the disk where ur files were lost
2, Choose
[EFI GPT] partition table type3, Select
[ Analyse ] to scan for lost partitions4, Highlight the partition labeled
Linux filesys. data and press P to list files5, If u see ur files press
C to copy them to a directorythen it will show u the progress and how many files has recovered
u can use photorec for specific file recovery like this
sudo photorec
follow the screen instructions it is same to the first step....
