Non-Performing Assets (NPA)

NPA refers to the assets 💼 (mostly loans) of a bank 🏦 that are not generating any income 💵.
If a borrower doesn’t repay the loan or interest for more than 90 days 🗓 (and for some consumer loans, 180 days), the bank labels that loan as a Non-Performing Asset.

In simple words:
When someone takes a loan from the bank and stops paying it back for a long time (90+ days),
the bank starts losing money on that loan.
Such bad loans are called NPAs, and they are a big problem for banks.

⏩UTGST (Union Territory GST) - Levied in Union Territories without a legislature, along with CGST instead of SGST.

What is PSL?
Priority Sector Lending is a rule by RBI 🏠 that tells banks to give loans to important sectors like farmers, small businesses, students, and affordable housing.
These sectors help in the growth of the country but often don’t get enough loans.

✅ Banks must give a fixed percentage of their total loans to these sectors.
✅ This helps in inclusive growth — growth that reaches everyone.
