Bank Rate

The Bank Rate is the rate 📈 at which the RBI 🏦 lends money 💵 to banks 🏦 without any security 🔓 for a longer period ⏳ (more than 90 days).

In simple words:
When banks need money for a long time, they borrow it from the RBI. RBI doesn't ask for any security and charges interest on the amount. That interest rate is called the Bank Rate.

Marginal Standing Facility (MSF)

MSF refers to the rate 📈 at which banks 🏦 can borrow funds 💵 from the RBI 🏦 for a very short time, usually on an overnight basis 🌜⏱

In simple words:
When banks urgently need money for one night, they can take a quick loan from RBI using MSF.
RBI charges a bit higher interest on this emergency loan.
It acts like a last-minute help for banks to manage sudden fund shortages.

Non-Performing Assets (NPA)

NPA refers to the assets 💼 (mostly loans) of a bank 🏦 that are not generating any income 💵.
If a borrower doesn’t repay the loan or interest for more than 90 days 🗓 (and for some consumer loans, 180 days), the bank labels that loan as a Non-Performing Asset.

In simple words:
When someone takes a loan from the bank and stops paying it back for a long time (90+ days),
the bank starts losing money on that loan.
Such bad loans are called NPAs, and they are a big problem for banks.

⏩UTGST (Union Territory GST) - Levied in Union Territories without a legislature, along with CGST instead of SGST.
