NATOs Brussels HQ said it is supporting a group of member nations, including Germany, the Netherlands, Romania and Spain, with a contract to buy up to 1,000 Patriot air defense missiles.
The purchasing agency of the Alliance signed a contract for the production of missiles, and European production capacity will also be increased.

The Fujian is a CATOBAR carrier with 3 EMALS electro-magnetic catapults (US carries have 4).
The carrier is finishing fitting out and will start sea trials very soon.
The carrier would operate an air group of 40 fighter aircraft, plus propeller-powered transport and airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft.

The US Air Force's RQ-4B Global Hawk strategic high-altitude reconnaissance drone made its first flight near the Russian border on the Black Sea since the beginning of the year, the ItaMilRadar website reported.
The American drone, which took off from the Sigonella airbase on the Italian island of Sicily, cruised south of the Crimean coast for about 20 hours. Moreover, the flight was carried out at a considerable distance from the borders of Russia. Such flights are being carried out at greater distances than previously following the incident involving a US Air Force MQ-9 Reaper drone last March, when the US military said it crashed into the sea after being overflighted by Russian Su-27 fighter jets.
