Russia is considering equipping its Ground Forces' artillery brigades with the 2S43 Malva 152mm self-propelled howitzers on a 8x8 BAZ-6010-027 chassis. The MoD plans on procuring Malvas for the VDV's artillery brigade as well.

The Malva has a range of 24.5 km and can fire 7 rounds per minute. It weighs 32k kg when fully loaded, significantly less than the Msta-S, which means it can be transported by Il-76 transport aircraft.
