❗️ ⚓️🇹🇼 Taiwan to send 22 officers to Europe and North America in 2025 to study combat management systems and radars for its new light frigates
The Taiwanese version of the light frigate is scheduled to be ready in 2026. Plans call for 12 light frigates to replace the aging Chi Yang-class frigates.
According to the Defense Ministry's 2025 budget documents, the Taiwan Navy will spend NT$4.96 million ($154,800) to send officers overseas.
The Navy will initially select 16 officers to study the battle management system, with plans to send the servicemen to North America in January, June, and July 2025.
Three officers will travel to Europe in June and another three in October to study radar systems.
