European Nations Deploy Fighters to Indo-Pacific, Joined by USAF
Nearly 50 aircraft from the German, French, and Spanish air forces are embarking on a series of exercises across the Indo-Pacific region from June to August, with the U.S. Air Force jumping in on several as well.
Dubbed ‘Pacific Skies,’ the massive deployment highlights Europe’s growing interest in the region, even as the war in Ukraine continues to dominate the continent.

🇦🇿🇰🇿🇰🇬🇹🇯🇺🇿 Military exercises with the participation of the armed forces of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are taking place in the Mangystau region (Kazakhstan), Kazakh media reported.
▪️According to the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, the international exercise Birlestik-2024 will last from July 8 to 17. They will take place at the Oymasha training ground and in the offshore area near Cape Tokmak. The military of the five countries will conduct a joint operation to “localize the armed conflict.”
▪️The exercises will involve about four thousand soldiers, as well as up to 700 units of military equipment. Soldiers of ground and air reconnaissance, naval special forces, artillery crews, assault and tank units, aviation and ships will practice “conflict localization.”

The Baltic countries will receive German radars
Estonia & Latvia will receive modern air surveillance radars from Germany as part of the implementation of the European air defense initiative "European Shield", according to Defense News
🇩🇪 manufacturer Hensoldt will provide the Baltic countries with additional defense technology worth 100 million euros - TRML-4D radars, which can detect and track up to 1,500 air targets at a distance of up to 250 kilometers. The company also integrates radars into IRIS-T SLM air defense systems.
Estonia and Latvia have agreed to purchase German weapons worth about 1 billion euros in September 2023. For Latvia, the purchase of air defense equipment worth 600 million euros was the largest defense purchase in the history of the country's independence.
The European Sky Shield program, is aimed at strengthening European air defense. As part of this initiative alone, Hensoldt produces more than 80 radar stations.
