The 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a successful drone strike Saturday, June 7, targeting and disabling a Russian locomotive hauling a military logistics train in the Bryansk Oblast of Western Russia, roughly 20 miles from the border with Ukraine.

A U.S. Army AH-64E “Apache” Attack Helicopter went down near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, and both of the two crewmembers were safely rescued, with it not immediately clear if the helicopter was shot down by Iran, two people briefed on the incident tell The New York Times.

Following the story by the New York Times on the U.S. Army AH-64 Apache that was downed near the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed both reports that it went down and the rescue of the two crew members, saying that the helicopter went down near the coast of Oman. Per the CENTCOM release, both soldiers were rescued within two hours of the helicopter going down and rescue efforts were led by U.S. Naval Forces CENTCOM and the 82nd Airborne Division. Additional naval and Air Force units provided support. Notably, no reason is provided for the helicopter’s downing, as per CENTCOM, “the cause of the incident is under investigation.”

According to Sky News Arabia, citing an unspecified source, Iran has sent a draft ceasefire proposal to the U.S. that is reportedly now under review by the Trump administration. Per the report, the initial précis of the proposal is supposedly acceptable to the administration. This comes following U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s comments earlier that the talks are in their late stages.

Senior U.S. official tells Axios that a military investigation determined that an Iranian drone struck the AH-64 Apache over the Hormuz Strait causing it to crash, though the official said the investigation had not yet determined whether that was an intentional action by Iran.

The few vessels who do transit through the Strait of Hormuz continue to utilize the Iranian traffic separation scheme with no visible traffic utilizing the southern route through Omani waters established through Project Freedom.

Reporting now by CNN appears to confirm that the U.S. Army AH-64E Apache downed yesterday over the Strait of Hormuz was indeed struck by an Iranian Shahed-style one-way attack drone, though as the investigation into the incident continues, it is still not known if this was an accident or an intentional attack by Iran.

According to the New York Times, citing a number of diplomats and officials with knowledge of ongoing U.S.-Iran negotiations, the U.S. and Iran have narrowed down the issue of Iran’s nuclear program to four main points. These points are a long-term suspension of Iranian uranium enrichment, the dilution or downblending of current enriched material, the dismantling of Iranian nuclear facilities, and Iran acceding to snap inspections to ensure compliance with whatever framework is agreed upon. Per the report, on the dilution of Iranian stockpiles, the U.S. plans to work directly with the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to realize such efforts. However, Iran has yet to be persuaded to allow direct U.S. involvement in such activities.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi appears to suggest in a post on X that the downing of a U.S. Army AH-64E Apache yesterday over the Strait of Hormuz by an Iranian drone was an accident, stating: “Foreign forces in proximity to our territory are at constant risk on account of their own human errors, plain accidents, or potentially being caught in crossfire.”
