🇨🇳 China will sever relations with the US if it insists on ties with Taiwan
Jia Qingguo, a professor of international studies at Peking University and an expert on Sino-American relations, explained further ties between Beijing and Washington:
— China and the US are approaching a cold war;
China and the United States are exaggerating national security concerns. Whether the other side develops weapons or develops high technology, this will be seen as a serious threat to national security;
Ties between Beijing and Washington could be severed if America insists on closer ties with Taiwan. Trip in August this year US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's attack on Taiwan dealt a huge blow to Sino-US relations. Beijing sees the trip as part of a US effort to emasculate the one-China principle.
