Devastating UPDATE: 51 Dead - More Expected, Says President

Chile has declared a state of emergency as the wildfires ravaging the country continue to cause havoc, forcing the military to deploy more troops to the worst affected areas with 43,000 hectares currently burning in 92 fires at the moment.

Curfews have been imposed in multiple districts to help response teams tackle the blazes as President Gabriel Boric admitted on TV that the death toll is expected to continue rising; local authorities in Valparaiso have reported 372 residents missing there alone.

AT least one suspect has been detained in connection with the fires themselves according to CNN Chile and will be arraigned on Sunday.
