💸TON Accelerator to give out up to $25 million

The TON Accelerator program announced its commitment of up to $25 million for projects that will have a significant impact on the TON ecosystem.

TONcoin.fund will allocate capital for various key projects, with an emphasis on decentralized finance (DeFi).

In addition to funding, each project will receive mentoring from TON Accelerator partners, such as hedge funds and risk management consultants.

The TON Foundation intends to join forces with major Web3 accelerators to expand its network of partners for the TON Accelerator Program.

The initial selection will focus on projects which took part in the two-month virtual Hack-a-TONx by DoraHacks.

Participants with a proof of concept or prototype can apply for grants at an early stage of development.

⛏TON Foundation launches a liquidity mining campaign

TON Foundation has announced a brand new campaign enabling participants to earn money by mining TON cryptocurrency.

The campaign runs from June 5 to June 30, featuring prizes of up to $720,000 in TON.

The main goal is to win users over from other blockchains to The Open Network ecosystem.

The campaign will be mainly supported by the Jettons Tether token pools of USDT, USDC and WBTC on Ethereum. A special bridge will be created to facilitate transfers of ERC-20 tokens from the Ethereum blockchain to TON tokens.

TON Foundation will be making more announcements in July 2023 and is expecting a significant increase in assets and liquidity in the TON ecosystem.

🔥TON burning mechanism

TON Community has proposed a mechanism to burn 50% of all transaction fees, similar to the EIP-1559 update on Ethereum.

“Even though the initial impact seems small at first, estimated at about 350-400 TON per day, the effect will increase significantly over time, leading to noticeable deflation,” commented Kirill Emelianenko, Technical Director of TON.

Discussions are currently underway, and the proposal must be approved by a majority of TON validators in order to be implemented.

If both the validators and the community are on board with this mechanism, part of the tokens will be burned during transactions, and the remaining commission will go to the validator as usual.

🗳Voting on the deflationary mechanism has begun

The TON community has proposed burning 50% of all transaction fees, including storage fees, in order to reduce the turnover supply.

TON validators have two sources of income: transaction fees from users and new coins issued for each processed block. The deflationary mechanism will affect only transaction and storage fees, while the number of newly issued coins will remain the same.

Voting ends on June 13th, after which TON validators will start their vote on June 15th.

The changes will be implemented if at least 70% of all TON validators vote in favor of the proposal.

This morning TON got hammered down to $1.23, and some used this opportunity to load up on TON for almost $1.

Apparently, speculators whiplashed to strengthen their position against a generally weak market.

The drop in value by more than 20% occurred in a matter of a few hours.
