In the movie IT by Stephen King, “It” is a shape-shifting entity, who most often took the form of “Pennywise, the dancing clown.”

It announced his presence by conjuring up a red balloon. The red balloon served as a sign/omen for a demonic entity; an entity that fed off the worst fears of the children. The red balloon lured its victims to their death.

So does the red balloon signify happiness or fear/death/dark forces?
It’s all about intent.
