The national weather map for the networks:
ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX
did not show an icon for a hurricane where Hurricane Erin was located offshore in the
Atlantic…even though that area of each weather map was visible.

ABC did not show or mention a hurricane,
nor did it show or mention that there was a significant cold front along the entire
east coast from New England to Florida.

Al Roker of NBC said there would be “up
to seven inches of rain in parts of Florida” but made no mention of a hurricane.

Mark McEwen of CBS noted that there were “rough seas ...from that hurricane that’s going away.”
