Back in 1997, Rob Reiner narrated a film about how to rear your baby and child in its first years of life…“Why the first 3 years matter.”

In the first section of the film, Reiner talks about how important it is to touch and massage your baby in the first 3 years.

In some of these scenes where he talks about “touching” and “massaging” the baby/child…the baby had no clothes. They showed you the baby’s genitalia.

He was sending a message…

So when Trump invokes 1776 and does so at Christmas, he’s pointing to the moment when perseverance, not power, saved the republic.

He’s reminding us that nations are reborn when they refuse to surrender. That the hardest moments precede the turning point and that endurance, not comfort, is what saves a republic

He’s telling us to hold the line.
