A schoolyard shooting…that happened at Cleveland Elementary in Stockton, California on 1/17/1989…was at that time, considered to be the “worst school shooting” to occur at a non-college institution.
This was surpassed ten years later by the Columbine High School massacre.
The shooter’s name was
Patrick Purdy.
He later died of “suicide.”
There were “6” deaths, which included the shooter.
This happened 36 years ago.
