In reality, Alan Dulles (Director of CIA) wanted to overthrow the legitimate French government ...and replace it with a military dictatorship.

Vincent Jules Auriol was the first President of the French Fourth Republic.

A CIA hit team was already in France planning to overthrow and replace him with a military dictatorship.

Jacqueline Bouvier and her sister Caroline were part of that team.

Due to security that was in place, the plot was foiled.

France remained a Republic.

The two sister “spies” returned home in September 1951.
