Convinced that German scientists could help America's postwar efforts, President Harry Truman agreed in September 1946 to authorize "Project Paperclip," a program to bring selected German scientists to work on America's behalf during the "Cold War."
However… Truman made it clear…no one who was a member of the N*_*z*i* Party would be allowed into the United States. He specifically said,
“Anyone to have been a member of the N*_*z*i* party and more than a nominal participant in its activities, or an active supporter of Nazi-ism or militarism...”

The Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency (JIOA)...which later became the C*I*A… conducted background investigations of these scientists.

In February 1947, JIOA Director...Bosquet Wev, submitted the first set of scientists' resumes to the State & Justice Departments for review.

The Dossiers/resumes were damning!!!

Samauel Klaus, the State Department's representative on the JIOA board, reviewed their information and reported that all the scientists in this first batch were as he said… "ardent N-zis." Their visa requests were denied.

Wev wrote a memo warning that "the best interests of the United States have been subjugated to the efforts expended in 'beating a dead N*_*z*i* horse.'"

He also declared that the return of these scientists to Germany…where they could be exploited by America's enemies, presented a "far greater security threat to this country than any former N-zi affiliations which they may have had or even any Nazi sympathies that they may still have."

The Nazi’s paperwork was whitewashed and changed. CIA director, Allen Dulles and the Military Intelligence had the scientists dossier's re-written to eliminate incriminating evidence and any reference to being “Nazis.”

Many were given prominent positions in the American scientific community. Many had been longtime members of the Nazi party and the Gestapo.

They had conducted experiments on humans in concentration camps, had used slave labor, and had comitted other war crimes.

By 1955, more than 760 German scientists were granted citizenship in the U.S.

How was this even possible if President Truman, explicitly ordered that there were to be no Nazis admitted under Project Paperclip??!!

Truman’s own State Department kept this from him. State Department archives and memoirs from that era confirm this.

Who were some of these recruits?

1. WERNER von BRAUN. A September 18, 1947, report on the German rocket scientist stated, "Subject is regarded as a potential security threat by the Military Governor."
Then his dossier was changed to read:
"No derogatory information is available on the subject...It is the opinion of the Military Governor that he may not constitute a security threat to the United States."

From 1937 to 1945, von Braun was the technical director of the Peenemunde rocket research center, where the V-2 rocket…which devastated England…was developed.

Von Braun worked on guided missiles for the U.S. Army and was later director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center.

He became a celebrity in the 1950s and early 1960s, as one of Walt Disney's experts on the "World of Tomorrow." In 1970, he became NASA's associate administrator.

Von Braun was also involved with Antarctica. More on that later.

2. ARTHUR RUDOLPH; During the war, Rudolph was operations director of the Mittelwerk factory at the Dora-Nordhausen concentration camps, where 20,000 workers died from beatings, hangings, and starvation.

Rudolph had been a member of the N_zi party since 1931; a 1945 military file on him said: "100% Nazi, dangerous type, security threat..!! Suggest internment."

But the JIOA's final dossier on him said there was "nothing in his records indicating that he was a war criminal, or ardent N_zi, or otherwise objectionable."

Rudolph became a US citizen and later designed the Saturn V 5 moon rocket used in the Apollo missions.

He became the main developer of the US Space Program. In 1984 he was investigated for war crimes and his US citizenship was renounced.

3. KURT BLOME:

BLOME was a high-ranking Nazi scientist. He told U.S. military interrogators in 1945 that he had been ordered in 1943 to experiment with plague vaccines on concentration camp prisoners. (The Rockefellers were tied to this).

He was tried at Nuremberg in 1947 on charges of practicing euthanasia (extermination of sick prisoners), and conducting experiments on humans.

He was acquitted.

Two months after his Nuremberg acquittal, Blome was interviewed at Camp David, regarding biological warfare. In 1951, he was hired by the U.S. Army Chemical Corps to work on chemical warfare.

His file neglected to mention his Nuremberg trial.

4. MAJOR GENERAL WALTER SCHREIBER:

Schreiber had assigned doctors to experiment on concentration camp prisoners. The assistant prosecutor said the evidence would have convicted Schreiber if the Soviets, who held him from 1945 to 1948, had made him available for trial.

As with the others, Schreiber's Paperclip file made no mention of this evidence.
He went on to work for The Air Force School of Medicine at Randolph Field in Texas.

Eventually he was found out, and received negative publicity. The JOIA gave him a visa and a job in Argentina, where his daughter was living. On May 22, 1952, he was flown to Buenos Aires.

5. HERMANN BECKER-FREYSING and
6. SIEGFRIED RUFF:

BLOME and these two Nazi scientists were amoung the 23 defendants in the Nuremberg War Trials "Medical Case."

Becker-Freysing was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison for conducting experiments on Dachau inmates. The crimes he committed were horrific.
They were starved, then force-fed seawater that had been chemically altered to make it drinkable.

Ruff was acquitted on charges that he had killed as many as 80 Dachau inmates in a low- pressure chamber designed to simulate altitudes in excess of 60,000 feet.

Before their trial, both Becker-Freysing and Ruff were paid by the Army Air Force to write reports about their grotesque experiments.

7. GENERAL REINHARD GEHLEN:

Gehlen was Hitler's chief intelligence officer, who was still on the job even 5 years after the war was over.

Gehlen oversaw a vast network of intelligence agents spying on Russia. His top aides were Nazi extremists; many who had committed some of the worst crimes of the war.

Gehlen and his SS unit were hired, and became agents of the CIA...after they handed over massive amounts of records on the Soviet Union to the US.

How bad was Gehlen?

Gehlen was involved with torture, interrogation, and murder-by-starvation of approximately 4 million Soviet prisoners.

Prisoners who refused to cooperate were often tortured or executed. Many were executed...even after they gave the requested information.

Others were left to starve to death.

Two months before Germany surrendered in 1945, Gehlen and a small group of his most senior officers microfilmed vast amounts of information they had on the USSR.
They packed the film in watertight steel drums and secretly buried it in a remote mountain meadow scattered throughout the Austrian Alps.

General William Donovan and Allen Dulles of the CIA were tipped off about Gehlen's surrender and his offer to provide intelligence he had on the Soviets.
What did Gehlen get in exchange? A job in our CIA.

8. (Last example) KLAUS BARBIE:
With the encouragement of the C*I*A, Gehlen's organization called “Gehlen Org” set up "rat lines" to get N-zi war criminals out of Europe so they wouldn't be prosecuted.

By setting up transit camps and issuing phony passports, the Gehlen Org helped more than 5,000 N-zis leave Europe and relocate around the world, especially in South and Central America.

Mass murderers like Klaus Barbie (the butcher of Lyons) helped governments set up death squads in Chile, Argentina, El Salvador, and elsewhere.

As you can see…there is a pattern with these people our country were able to pull in via Operation PAPERCLIP.

This is just a sampling of the 1600 scientists that came into our country to further their crimes against humanity. We talked about MK Ultra on Monday.

Some of these scientists, who started the MK Ultra Projects, came from Project Paperclip.

We will discuss them, and other names which you are familiar with…such as the Rockefellers and Kissinger…and how they tie into all of this.

There were other Projects, and other fields, the N-zi scientists were a part of. We will eventually discuss those as well.
