Friends, I just got back home.

I’ll be organizing my notes. It should be about an hour.

Out of the blue, in November 1942, after we got into WW2, a mass displacement of some 3,000 small-town families and farmers took place in Scarboro, Tennessee.

Who did the displacing??

This displacement was done by the MILITARY and our American government.


WHY???

During November, 1942, the principal at Oak Ridge High School in this town of Scarboro, Tessesse told his students:

“I have just gotten a phone call from Senator McKellar.

He wants me to tell you to go home and tell your parents you are going to have to find another place to live.
The government is going to take your property for the war effort."

The MILITARY told these families they had less than 2 weeks to
“forthwith vacate said premises immediately.”

They needed to make room for 75,000 workers the government was going to bring into this part of Tennessee.

Many of these families were Indians, poor, and had no means or money to relocate.

The name of the community would change.


It would now be called the town of OAK RIDGE!!!

WHY were the people being displaced in
Scarboro/OAK RIDGE??



Because the military needed a secret place to produce atomic bombs for
THE MANHATTAN PROJECT.

Many of us associate the development of the first atomic weapons with
Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico.

However…
much of the work behind the development of the weapons…including the enrichment of the uranium needed to create the bombs…was performed in the secret city of
Oak Ridge, Tennessee!

OAKRIDGE is located in a
17-mile valley in the
Great Smoky Mountains…just west of Knoxville.


This site was chosen because of its isolation…and accessibility to power and water.
Think Norris Dam.

Oak Ridge was one of three “secret cities” of the Manhattan Project, along with…

•Los Alamos in New Mexico &
•Hanford/Richland in Washington state.

It was late 1942, when the
US Army Corps of Engineers quietly AND secretly began acquiring vast tracts of land in remote areas of Tennessee, New Mexico, and Washington.

The residents of these areas were evicted…and their houses demolished!!

Haven’t we seen the ARMY CORP OF ENGINEERS referenced in the Q drops?

Trump also talked about them too…during Covid and the making of those make-shift hospitals.

Hmm.

Didn’t we just discuss this type of living situation with CADBURY’s, The Wonka Factory, and the community that the Railroad companies in Erwin, Tennessee built for the pottery workers????!!!
