The story goes…
The original hotel started as two hotels…two hotels built by two relatives from the same ASTOR FAMILY.
The first hotel…the 13-story, (450-room) Waldorf Hotel, was opened on March 13, 1893…at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 33rd Street.

The 2nd hotel…
On November 1, 1897,
John Jacob Astor IV opened the 17-story “Astoria Hotel” adjacent to the Waldorf Hotel. 17 you say?!😁
Eventually the two hotels became one…The Waldorf-Astoria…the largest hotel in the world at the time!

One hotel was built in 1893 by William Astor. He had a feud with his Aunt, so he built his hotel next to her house.
Then…William Astor’s cousin,
John Jacob Astor IV…built a hotel next to the first hotel in 1897??
Is it possible that the second hotel that was built…by John Jacob Astor IV…may have happened because of
TIME TRAVEL.
