CADBURY executives used Dahl and his fellow students at Repton as taste testers.
“It was the perfect setup—an isolated population of teens and preteens who exchanged confidentiality for a little gray box containing a grading sheet and 12 different bars of chocolate—one “control” bar and 11 new confections.”
One “Control” chocolate bar?
Eleven that were “new confections”??
THIS SOUNDS LIKE A PHARMACEUTICAL EXPERIMENT!!

The story of Pfizer began in New York City in 1849, when a pair of German immigrants, cousins Charles Pfizer and Charles F. Erhart, received a $2,500 loan from Charles Pfizer’s father to purchase a commercial building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
This is where they embarked upon a joint business venture in the chemical manufacturing industry.

The Mirror
Roald Dahl's Wonka inspiration came from chocolate wars between Cadbury and Rowntree
It was during Roald Dahl’s childhood that England’s two largest chocolate makers, Cadbury’s and Rowntree’s, were locked in an increasingly intense and bitter fight to capture the British sweet market

I know of someone who worked security at Cadbury in Bourneville here in UK, he said if you knew what went on there you would never touch there chocolate again! I think the chocolate is a front for trafficking
