Today is our wedding anniversary so I’ll be off until later tonight.

I have an incredible marriage. It’s what I lean on every day for happiness and strength.

Although my husband was in a ocean accident over 10 years ago, and is permanently injured, we find ways to grab love and joy out of our beautiful life.
We have two amazing children, and are so blessed we have each other.

I’m so lucky he’s my partner on this journey to truth. Know that he contributes to the deep dives by adding incredible ideas and perspective.

ARE CAMERAS (legally) ALLOWED IN THE COURTROOM for a murder trial?

The Lindbergh Baby kidnapping trial spurred the camera bans in court rooms.


Bruno Hauptmann was convicted of kidnapping and killing Charles Lindbergh’s baby.

After Bruno was convicted, he appealed to the New Jersey Court of Appeals… claiming  that the presence of courtroom cameras and media activity in the courtroom denied him a fair trial.

In 1937…After The
Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping trial…

the American Bar Association amended “Canon 35” of its Canons of Judicial Ethics to forbid photographic, television and other broadcast coverage of trials.

In the 1960s, Texas ignored Canon 35…and gave presiding judges in the state broad discretion
to allow cameras in the courtroom.

Hmm.

WHY???

Because of Texas ignoring CANON 35…and allowing cameras starting in the 1960s…a case was overturned by U.S. Supreme Court in 1965
…on the grounds that the camera coverage “distracted trial participants” and depraved the defendant of a fair trial.

Gee how convenient.
