If you watch the movie Ocean's Thirteen, which George Clooney was in, they use a tunnel borer to shake the foundation of the Casino/Hotel that they were pulling a heist on, to mimic an earthquake. It was mentioned that there were "many teams used" to run one of those boring machines. Truth in movies.
