What was interesting was that President Lyndon Johnson did not formally enter the 1968 Presidential Election.
On March 31, 1968
President Johnson famously said:
Why did Johnson do this ?
Was someone pulling he strings?
If so, “Who?”
Who else did this??

Lyndon Johnson was facing dissent within his party. As
you saw he didn’t formally enter the race.
He gave his “I will not seek re-election” campaign on
March 31st, 1968.
In spite of the fact that he didn’t seek re-election, LBJ still won the New Hampshire presidential race as a “write-in” candidate;

Lyndon Johnson felt the backlash of escalating the war in Vietnam.
He broke a lot of promises, especially after telling Americans he would “not send American boys to do what Asian boys should be doing."
Seemingly this may have been the main reason he decided not to run for re-election.
OR…
Someone/group of people forced his hand.
We will get to that later.
Ideas welcome!

His votes went to
Vice President
HUBERT HUMPHREY!!
HUBERT HUMPHREY did not enter into the Presidential race until April 27.
Up until then, he did not compete in any primaries.
Instead he inherited the delegates previously pledged to Johnson.
He then collected delegates in caucus states…especially in caucuses controlled by local Democratic bosses!!

According to USA TODAY, 66% of Democratic voters think the party needs to “replace him.”

Do you think much of what Trump is telling us in his rallies is for us to get our eyes on 1968?
1968 will be our theme for the next few weeks!
It’s a TEMPLATE!!
There so many more similarities…we will get to them.
