Senator Robert F. Kennedy entered the race on
March 16, 1968.

Take note of this date.

Two weeks after
Bobby Kennedy entered the race for president (3-16-68)…
President Lyndon Johnson
went on TV, before the American audience, to say he would NOT seek re-election…

Hmmm.

What was interesting was that President Lyndon Johnson did not formally enter the 1968 Presidential Election.

On March 31, 1968
President Johnson famously said:
“I shall not seek…and I will NOT accept…the nomination of my party for another term…as your President.”

Why did Johnson do this ?

Was someone pulling he strings?
If so, “Who?”

Who else did this??

BIDEN!!

Like Lyndon Johnson, Biden announced that he would not run for re-election.

Lyndon Johnson was facing dissent within his party. As
you saw he didn’t formally enter the race.

He gave his “I will not seek re-election” campaign on
March 31st, 1968.

In spite of the fact that he didn’t seek re-election, LBJ still won the New Hampshire presidential race as a “write-in” candidate;

What’s weird…

Like LBJ, Biden won New Hampshire through a write in effort after declining to campaign there!!

IS HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF??

ARE WE ON A TIME LOOP WITH 1968?

Public opinion polls showed LBJ in 3rd place…behind McCarthy and Bobby Kennedy.

McCarthy was the Anti-Vietnam War campaign.

Lyndon Johnson felt the backlash of escalating the war in Vietnam.

He broke a lot of promises, especially after telling Americans he would “not send American boys to do what Asian boys should be doing."

Seemingly this may have been the main reason he decided not to run for re-election.
OR…
Someone/group of people forced his hand.
We will get to that later.
Ideas welcome!

So…

What happened to those votes that LBJ had acquired at the polls before he dropped out?? Who did they go to??
🔥8
His votes went to
Vice President
HUBERT HUMPHREY!!

HUBERT HUMPHREY did not enter into the Presidential race until April 27.

Up until then, he did not compete in any primaries.

Instead he inherited the delegates previously pledged to Johnson.

He then collected delegates in caucus states…especially in caucuses controlled by local Democratic bosses!!

KAMALA HARRIS seemingly got Joe Biden’s votes.

But is this how it’s supposed to work??

Doesn’t seem very democratic now does it?

According to USA TODAY, 66% of Democratic voters think the party needs to “replace him.”

Currently JOE BIDEN has 3,896 pledged votes ahead of the convention.

If no candidate wins the majority of the roughly 4000 delegates, then the parties more than 700
superdelegates, or automatic delegates, will be able to vote at the convention!!

Anyone guessing that the Democratic National Convention is going to turn into a $hit Show?
